Task
To surf to other Pokemon sites across the world to help find the best online pokedex on the web.
The participants searched the Internet and helped us make a list of all of the best online pokedexes in the world. During the first week (June 11-June 19 those who participated, surfed Pokemon websites to find their choices of up to 3 websites who they think should win the best online pokedex award for 2002. Those people sent us their list of site addresses for us to look over, then we are adding them to Gengar's list. Now that the submitions are all in, Gengar will be rating the sites that were sent in and the top 10 sites will then be added to a poll. All the site's visitors were then able to pick which pokedex was their favorite. That went on for one week. The poll results were private until the end, to make it more fair. The poll closed on June 29 @ 23:59 CDT and the results was displayed on June 30th.
Here are the rules we went by:

Prizes
We gave special prizes to all those who participated during the submitions. Each
participant was able to download an exclusive GHPD wallpaper made by Gengar himself during one
of his high school computer courses last year. The wallpaper has never been released to the public
before this and will only be available during special contests such as this one. The participants
that finds one of the top pokedexes will get special recognition as well as the wallpaper. The
owners of the winning pokedexes will also get the wallpaper, plus an award to put on their site
displaying that they won the GHPD's Pokedex Contest 2002 made by us. Awards and wallpapers was
given out after the contest was finished (June 30th).

What we rated:
Below are the different things we rated at each pokedex. We used a 10 point rating
system. Each of aspect had 10 points possible. We then totaled all the points up. The top sites
went on to the voting stage of the contest. There was a total of 100 points possible.
Completion- How much of the pokedex is done? Points will be
figured with special formula. (Pokemon Done / 251) x 10. Figures will be rounded down to nearest
point. That means to get any points in this aspect, at least 26 pokemon are needed to get one
point.
Layout- How is the information presented? Is it original?
Popups (Ads)- Is the number of popups/ads too much? 2 points
will be deducted for each popup. Popups that aren't ads will not be counted against.
Appearance- How good do the colors go together? Is it easy to
read the text?
Pictures- Does the pokedex have pokemon pictures? Do they
load?
Information- Is there enough information to be a real pokedex?
(no pokemon lists with only its numbers) Is information useful?
Ease of Use- How easy is it to use?
Navigation- Is there a way to navigate to links without use of
back button?
Accuracy- Is the information accurate? Three random pokemon
will be chosen and checked for accuracy when we rate them.
Load Speed- Is the speed of three random pokemon pages, slow,
normal, or fast on a 56K modem?
